To solve this, first add -9b on both sides of the equation to get the variable on only one side of the equation.

2b+4=-18-9b

2b+9b+4=-18-9b+9b

11b+4=-18

Then subtract 4 from both sides of the equation.

11b+4=-18

11b+4-4=-18-4

11b=-22

Divide 11 on both sides of the equation to find the values of b.
